June 2017

Exceeded all our expectations, comfortable and high standard accomodation. Spectauler views, we have loved sitting on the balcony in the mornings and evenings. Suzanne and Duncan maintain the perfect balance between privacy and being on hand when you need them. Friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the area. It has been the perfect base for all the walking we have enjoyed in the quiet lanes and paths (all 60 miles of them!). And thank you for the glorious weather, we'll be back! (Apple)

A lovely place to stay, fantastic welcome of a cream tea, everything we dreamt it would be. (Apple)

May 2017

This is truly a marvellous place to come and relax and unwind. (Apple)

Idyllic location & fabulous accommodation for our fortnight's break. Dogs have absolutely loved the woods all around and we particularly enjoyed Montecute House and Exmoor as well as the Jurassic Coast. Thanks for providing all the ingredients for a great break! (Weathervane)

We felt very welcome and enjoyed the week in spite of the weather! (Meadow)

April 2017

... a nice 'home' to return to after a long walk on Dartmoor or along the Jurassic Coast. We also visited Exeter Cathedral and the South Devon Steam Railway. (visitors from the Netherlands staying in Apple Loft)

March 2017

Another relaxing stay. When we need to 'get away from it all' this is the perfect place. (Meadow)

Location is perfect, so quiet with plenty of walks yet close enough to enjoy cinema and shopping. All the locals I met were very nice and local food was delicious. I came to do some writing, walking, pub food and photography, but it would be perfect for anyone after some peace and quiet. (Apple)

Another very relaxing stay at Twistgates, a place we can really re-charge our batteries. We love all the cottages and the scones with cream and jam are always so welcome. You know we will be back!!!! (Apple)

February 2017

Another visit, which we always enjoy! Took the bikes along the Exe Estuary as the cycling is safe and picturesque. Visited the beaches to chase the waves at Branscombe. Always cosy here and welcoming. (Garden)

An amazing few days in this gorgeous cottage. Absolutely perfect and just what we needed. Definately back next year. Our 4th year and never disappoints. Never want to leave! (Garden)

It was amazing to see the huge variety of birds from the windows, as well as owls and deer in the woods and fields near the cottage. The community shop and the weekend farm and craft market at Churchinford were great for local produce, we particularly liked the bread and bacon there, and the delicious ice cream at the Sidmouth Arms in Upottery. It's definitely worth the couple of miles scenic walk from the cottage to taste this! We all agree that Weathervane Cottage is very comfortable, a welcoming and peaceful base for walks, exploring the area and gazing at views and stars. (Weathervane)

Lovely peaceful week - good meal in the local pub and visits to Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Beer beaches are all recommended. Great days out at Pecorama and Escot Park - plenty to fill an entire day (as long as the sun is shining), the maze at Escot nearly beat us, took 45 minutes to the centre! (Weathervane)

Great cottage in a fab location. Enjoyed the peace and local wildlife by the back door. A convenient base for day trips out to the coast and National Trust properties. The welcome scones, tea and milk were greatly appreciated. (Meadow)

Walked to the Sidmouth Arms for Sunday lunch then walked back across the fields playing poo sticks along the way. Between our 3 families we completed the 1000 piece jigsaw. Today we enjoyed a lovely long walk to Churchinford and back stopping off for a pub lunch. Scenery was fantastic and lots of lovely cottages and farms along the way, so it you like a walk it's a must. (Meadow, Apple Loft and Orchard guest suite)

We've had the loveliest time here. Such a cosy cottage and gorgeous area. And our toddler slept! (Weathervane)

The peace and tranquility here is a real healing process. The birdsong is out of this world and so lovely that I've recorded it to play at home and think of Twistgates! Thank you for your usual welcome and hope to make it here for a fifth time! (Meadow)
