Within minutes of leaving one of the main thoroughfares into the west country, the road leads through woods on both sides and then, as you turn a bend, a beautiful view of gently rolling hills and patchwork fields dotted with farm animals opens up before you and you are almost at Twistgates Farm Cottages and the Apple Loft apartment.
Our self catering cottages are situated in the Blackdown Hills, it’s an area that most people pass through without blinking an eye and yet, for those that dip into it, it’s a timeless gem well worth exploring, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) that lives up to its name.
With countryside views all around, quiet lanes to wander along, the River Otter to explore
, birds, animals and wild flowers in abundance many of our guests are quite content not to stray far from their holiday home however, if you hop in the car, within 30 minutes you can be on a beach along the Jurassic Coast enjoying all the trappings of a seaside vacation
– Lyme Regis, Beer, Branscombe, Seaton, Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton are some to visit.
